Tickets on sale now for Balloons Over Bend Children’s Festival—now on Friday, July 26 in Riverbend Park

Bend, Oregon – Thousands of Central Oregonians and summer visitors look forward to the RE/MAX Key Properties Balloons Over Bend Children’s Festival each year—when hot air balloons take to the sky across a breathtaking backdrop of the sun rising over the Cascades, for a larger than life spectacle to remember. Balloons Over Bend is a fun-filled weekend that not only offers opportunities to witness awe-inspiring hot air balloons at the morning launches and Night Glow events, but also fun and games at the Children’s Festival, an annual fundraiser benefiting Saving Grace. New this year—the Children’s Festival will be held in Riverbend Park on Friday, July 26, from noon-8pm.

Lay It Out Events welcomes RE/MAX Key Properties as the 2019 Balloons Over Bend title sponsor. Through the generosity of sponsors like RE/MAX Key Properties, Lay It Out Events is able to make Balloons Over Bend a spectacular event that the community looks forward to every year.

MORNING LAUNCHES One special weekend every summer, the morning skies above Bend come alive with the rainbow colors of hot air balloons. Wake up bright and early and save a spot at R.E. Jewell Elementary School on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at dawn to watch these sleeping giants come to life. Stand back and watch the magic happen as support crews do their part to help the balloons rise into the sky to greet the morning sun.

BEND NIGHT GLOW Visitors are invited to Riverbend Park in Bend, Oregon at dusk to watch the nighttime balloon glow on Friday, July 26 at dusk. As the sun sets over The Old Mill District, crews inflate balloons in Riverbend Park, where they take on a life of their own for all to see. It’s an opportunity to be up close and personal to these balloons and to sit back, have delicious snack from one of the food carts, and watch the balloons light up the sky. On July 27, 2019 the evening balloon glow moves to Sam Johnson Park in Redmond from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., merging with the Chamber’s Annual Bacon & Brew Festival.

BACON, BREW & BALLOONS FESTIVAL For the second year, the Redmond Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Bacon and Brew Festival is joining up with Balloons Over Bend to bring a Night Glow to Redmond on Saturday, July 27 in Sam Johnson Park! The festival will feature several of Central Oregon’s favorite food trucks, breweries, live music by The Tangents and Klassixs Ayre Band, and all the bacon your heart desires. At sundown, witness the picturesque scene as hot air balloons illuminate the canyon for the Balloons Over Bend Redmond Night Glow. Balloon viewing and live music is free and open to the public, while the beer garden and VIP lounge are available to ages 21+ with a ticket.

CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL New this year, the Balloon’s Over Bend Children’s Festival will be held at Riverbend Park on Friday, July 26 from noon-8pm, leading up to the Night Glow. Balloons Over Bend is proud to partner with Saving Grace for the Children’s Festival, offering a day filled with creating, learning and fun! Kids will enjoy educational experiments, carnival games, creative stations, nature nooks, the BEA Bike Rodeo, Balloon Blast Kids Race and much more!

Access to all activities are included with the purchase of a wristband. Wristbands cost $15 per child (ages 3 and older) and a $5 donation is suggested for kids ages 2 and under. All proceeds benefit Saving Grace, a local nonprofit that provides services for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, helping them lead a life free from violence.

All children are invited to participate in the Balloon Blast Kids Race, taking place at 2pm in Riverbend Park. Kids ages 3-10 will have a blast on this fun course! The Balloon Blast is the sixth race in the PacificSource Kids Rock the Races series. All participants receive a race bib, finisher ribbons and a stamp on their PacificSource Kids Rock the Races race bib and will be eligible for cool prizes. The race is free for children with wristbands, or $5 per child for those not attending the Children’s Festival.
